On the 9th of May 2019, Simon Sinek and other world-class speakers will take the stage of the Nordic Business Forum Sweden. Simon is a leadership expert that explores how leaders can inspire cooperation, trust and change. He’s the author of the classic “Start with Why” and his latest book is called “Leaders Eat Last.”
Sinek set out to explain why some people are capable of achieving things that seem to defy all the assumptions?
He made a discovery in 2005 that profoundly change his view on how he thought the world work. This discovery is today one of TED’s most played TEDx Talk’s: How great leaders inspire action. Many of you may know it as the Golden Circle.
Management theorist Simon Sinek suggests it is someone who makes their employees feel safe.
“When a leader makes the choice to put the safety and lives of the people inside the organisation first, to sacrifice their own comforts and sacrifice the tangible results, so that the people remain and feel safe and feel like they belong, remarkable things happen.
The closest analogy I can give you is that being a great leader, is like being a parent. What makes a great parent? We want to give our child opportunities, education, all so that they can grow up and achieve more.” – Simon Sinek from his remarkable TED talk shown below.
Would a parent want their child to make the wrong food choices, leading them to increase their risk of chronic disease? Probably not. Would they want them to burn out just so that they can achieve more? Once again, most likely not. Take care of your employees by empowering them to take control of their health. In return they will put their blood, sweat and tears into helping you realize your vision.
